Niantic Spatial Deemed Awardable Through the IARPA Solutions Marketplace
Niantic Spatial, a leading commercial dual-use provider of geospatial AI technology, today announced that its 3D Reconstruction platform and Visual Positioning System (VPS) have each been deemed Awardable through the IARPA Solutions Marketplace.
The IARPA Solutions Marketplace is a digital platform designed to help the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) and the broader Intelligence Community (IC) identify, assess, and rapidly access innovative technologies relevant to IC mission needs. The Marketplace provides Government Customers with a centralized repository of assessed, Awardable solutions from companies, researchers, and other technology providers.

"With 3D reconstruction and visual positioning now Awardable through the IARPA Solutions Marketplace, Government customers can move quickly from evaluation to deployment - building an accurate model of a physical space and then precisely locating within it, even in contested or GPS-denied conditions."
3D Reconstruction
Niantic Spatial’s 3D Reconstruction pipeline converts imagery from off-the-shelf drones, phones, 360 cameras, third-party scanning hardware, and ISR/UAS platforms into georeferenced, geometrically accurate 3D models.
Unlike systems that optimize primarily for visual plausibility, the pipeline is built for correct geometry and physical accuracy. Scaniverse, Niantic Spatial’s scanning application, runs on standard iOS and Android devices for smaller-area scans; for large-area reconstructions, the pipeline scales to the cloud. SPZ, the company’s open-source Gaussian Splat compression format, reduces output file sizes by up to 90% for bandwidth-constrained environments.
The capability is designed to help Government Customers build accurate, persistent representations of physical spaces for mission planning, analysis, simulation, and other Intelligence Community applications.
Visual Positioning System
Niantic Spatial’s VPS aligns live camera imagery with a persistent map to deliver real-time, full 6DoF position and orientation in mapped areas.
The system is designed to enable precise localization in mission-critical Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) environments, delivering a resilient positioning layer for systems that cannot rely on GPS alone. It combines a flexible deep learning-based architecture with real-time computer vision and on-device sensor fusion.
VPS can support navigation and spatial awareness for autonomous systems and other applications that require reliable positioning in complex or GPS-denied environments.
