As the United States prepares to mark its 250th anniversary in 2026, Ubisoft and Sugar Creative are unveiling Echoes of Revolution - two large-scale, city-scale XR experiences set across New York City and Boston. Niantic Spatial is proud to power these ambitious projects with our Visual Positioning System (VPS), enabling immersive mixed-reality storytelling anchored precisely to real-world locations.

Developed under official license from Ubisoft, Echoes of Revolution uses original environments and assets from Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed Rogue to bring pivotal moments from early American history to life. Visitors will explore the founding era not from a screen, but from the exact streets, landmarks, and neighborhoods where history unfolded.

Foundational to this experience is Niantic Spatial VPS, delivering centimeter-level precision that anchors mixed-reality content to the physical world. This accuracy enables the Assassin’s Creed universe to blend seamlessly with two of America’s most historic cities.

“We’re thrilled to support Sugar Creative and Ubisoft in bringing these ambitious experiences to life,” said Joe Gabriel, Senior Partnerships Manager at Niantic Spatial. “Our Visual Positioning System is the ideal foundation for large-scale immersive storytelling, anchoring Assassin’s Creed’s world to the real locations that inspired it.”

In New York City, the experience is developed in partnership with the Gotham Center for New York City History. Visitors will navigate the city’s revolutionary-era streets - digitally reconstructed through Assassin’s Creed storytelling. In Boston, Revolutionary Spaces, custodians of some of the nation’s most significant revolutionary-era sites, is providing historical validation to ensure authenticity. VPS forms the connective tissue, anchoring interactive sequences, historical characters, and story moments exactly where they took place centuries ago.

More details will be announced in 2026.
